On a glorious, sun-filled Tuesday afternoon, local residents gathered for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Butterfly Garden at the Summit Park Line. Jay Cho was the visionary who came up with the concept and designed and built the raised beds with the help of Jeff Hankerson.
The plants and fenced-in area will provide butterflies with a protected environment in which to lay eggs and return year after year.
The Summit Environmental Commission received one of the 2023 Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions Open Space Stewardship Grants for Environmental Commissions to complete the fencing at the Butterfly Garden.
